CHAPTERS Reading, June 2016

Our final 2016 CHAPTERS reading series event was an energizing evening that celebrated our 2015-16 program year, graduating Girls Write Now mentees, and the voices of our talented performers. Our keynote, Naomi Jackson, author of The Start Side of Bird Hill, a highly recommended and newly published read,  welcomed the celebration with moving words about the power of writing in our society.

IN OUR WORDS

Girls Write Now alum and now program intern Tiffani Ren glows about June CHAPTERS on our blog!

Read the thank you note that senior mentee and April CHAPTERS emcee, Shanille Martin wrote for GWN!

GIVE. WRITE. NOW. And Thank you!!

Girls Write Now’s services are more essential than ever before—serving the hardest hit communities—and many of our young women and gender nonconforming youth have themselves become essential workers to help their families. They carry an enormous burden and face devastating loss, slipping further into poverty. To meet the need, we have enriched and extended our programs, leading the historical transition to virtual learning.
