The Agents for Change initiative honors corporate partners supporting Girls Write Now’s new workforce development program “Writing Works,” offering enhanced professional development for girls and gender non-conforming youth on the pathway to college and career.
2019 activities culminated in the Agents of Change Awards on Day of the Girl, Thursday, October 10, 2019 hosted by DVF with our honorary chairs, Patrick Shields, Head of US Corporate Banking at RBC and Mustafa Topiwalla, Managing Director, Corporate Banking at RBC. This year’s honorees included Christine Ball, the Senior VP and Publisher of Dutton, Putnam, and Berkely; Judith Curr, President and Publisher of the HarperOne Group, HarperCollins. Alina Roytberg, the Co-founder of Fresh and Robin Thede, the Executive Producer, Writer and Star of HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show, as well as special guest Cicely Tyson, the legendary actress, activist, and humanitarian. We will honor leaders across all industries (publishing, fashion, entertainment, finance, and more)—who are elevating the voices of diverse young women and gender non-conforming youth.
