Girls Write Now is launching one of the most important Circle member events of the year, our Graduation Gala on June 12—and we need you. Your support and the money raised will help Girls Write Now provide crucial summer offerings which will be free for all NYC young women and gender-nonconfirming youth. Please read on!
The Girls Write Now Circle has provided essential backing for the work we are doing right now, serving the hardest hit communities in New York City. Already in vulnerable financial and emotional situations, these bright, talented, caring teens with big dreams have become essential workers to help their families. They carry an enormous burden and face devastating loss as many slip further into poverty.
We are now witnessing our highest demand ever, and we are responding by leveling enormous educational inequities: opening our doors for innovative programming every day of the week—and enriching and extending our free services for the critical months of summer when so many activities are being canceled, including pre-college, summer classes, and internships.
At our Girls Write Now Graduation Gala on June 12th we will celebrate and send off our talented seniors with original performances by Girls Write Now mentees, commencement speakers including Tayari Jones, Roxane Gay, Rupi Kaur, and Jodi Kantor—and feature our generous Girls Write Now Circle for making this all possible.
In preparation for this historic event, we are asking you to join the Girls Write Now Circle—or renew and consider increasing—your generous annual gift.
Every single donation will directly support Girls Write Now’s initiative to ensure that New York City’s young women and gender non-conforming youth are supported with free and invaluable programming all summer long.
At Girls Write Now, we are relentlessly hopeful—quite simply because our community inspires us and deserves it. Thank you for making Girls Write Now home.
