Writing Works: Query Letter Writing Workshop + Feedback with Top Literary Agents
August 4 @ 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Have you written a book or do you have a great idea for a book and want to land a great agent?
The first step is to write a fantastic query letter. At this once-in-a-lifetime workshop, you will shape and share your query letter and get expert feedback from some of the top literary agents in publishing. This is a two-part event.
Part 1: A Query Letter Writing Workshop – 3:30-4:30PM
Learn how to write an effective query letter for your book with guidance from a top literary agent. This session is open to all registrants.
Part 2: A Query Letter Feedback Session with Top Literary Agents – 4:30-6PM
Get feedback on your query letter from top literary agents hailing from Writers House, Fletcher & Co, Sterling Lord Literistic, Thompson Literary Agency, and HG Literary. You must have a completed query letter in order to participate in Part II. If you do not have one, you must attend Part I. This session prioritizes mentee and mentee alum registrants. Mentors, mentor alum, and all other registrants will be placed on a waiting list and notified whether or not there is capacity.
To allow for adequate feedback in Part 2 of this workshop, we are limiting the number of participants and will confirm your registration as soon as possible.
This workshop is brought to you by Writing Works, Girls Write Now’s workforce development program, matching young women and gender nonconforming youth with professionals across a broad range of industries, including behind-the-scenes experiences with our Agents of Change partners HBO/Warner Media, Comcast/NBCUniversal, Penguin Random House, the Royal Bank of Canada, Fresh, and many more.
