Girls Write Now Live: Unmuted with Ashley C. Ford
May 21 – 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Girls Write Now Live is free for youth and open to the public for a suggested donation of $20.
On May 21, join us for an evening of boundary-pushing performances that will deepen your understanding of the world and yourself! You’ll witness electrifying original storytelling from teen writers who are loudly and proudly sharing their truths through prose, poetry, podcasting, video, illustration and more forms of multimedia work.
In this series, we are also proud to honor women authors and media makers who will deliver keynotes at the events. By turning off their mute buttons, they inspire and help amplify the voices of the next generation of writers and activists. This event features:
- 6PM-6:25PM ET: Live Pre-Show Q&A in Zoom with Ashley C. Ford, author of Somebody’s Daughter (Flatiron Books, June 2021)
- 6:30-7:30PM ET: Girls Write Now Live: Unmuted Streams Live on YouTube (The link to watch will be emailed to you.)
In this digital world, our Girls Write Now Live: Unmuted performance series is more than a show, it’s a movement—a gathering that pulses with the power of shared stories. A celebration of diversity and authenticity. The refreshing cocktail of connection and community we all long for during this time of isolation.
Girls Write Now Live is free for youth and open to the public for a suggested donation of $20. Your gift enables us to support more girls and gender nonconforming youth with our award-winning programming, which builds writing and leadership skills—and life-long relationships!
