About the Event

The second episode in our special edition Girls Write Now Live: Graduation Week series is infused with a strong sense of place. This evening’s select mentee performers will transport you with their work—from poetry evoking nostalgic nature scenes to the sights and sounds of a once-bustling New York City to beautiful meditations on what it means to call a place your home. There will be a Girls Write Now Live: Graduation Week episode airing every night leading up to our June 12 Graduation Gala event—a fundraiser for Girls Write Now’s initiative to ensure that New York City’s young women and gender-nonconforming youth are supported with free programming all summer long.

Girls Write Now’s Graduation Week special episodes are dedicated to those who have lost their lives to racial violence. Girls Write Now stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.
