Girls Write Now was founded more than 20 years ago on the principle that writing and community are vital to the success of young women and gender non-conforming teens as they grow up, begin college, and pursue careers across a range of industries.
The mentoring—oftentimes between a mentor and mentee from strikingly different backgrounds—is pure magic, because the boundaries dissolve, and the bonds formed are for a lifetime.
At its core, Girls Write Now is a communal enterprise. Our model only works when the mentor and mentee are bolstered by a robust network of champions who take a stake in their success by coming together—be it at a workshop, a reading, or by donating a generous gift on a day like today.
We’re excited about “Writing Works”—a workforce development program that is in high demand—and the results are inspiring. At Girls Write Now, we are opening doors for mentees and alum through strategic partnerships, unique professional development curriculum, and paid internships that are leading to careers.
Make a tax-deductible donation today to have your dollar doubled. And, in lieu of a gift to a family or friend, make a contribution in their honor that will last a lifetime.
