Scholastic Submissions Due for ALL Mentees12/12/2009 - 8:00am 12/12/2009 - 9:00am Etc/GMT-4 SCHOLASTIC SUBMISSIONS DUE SAT., DEC. 12 AT FICTION WORKSHOP The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a prestigious national teen writing competition. It is a program requirement that all mentees submit at least one piece of writing to the Art & Writing Awards. The piece(s) you submit – you may submit in more than one category – must be your own writing; it can be something that you’ve already written, and then edited with your mentor, or something new from this year at GWN. Either way, make sure to carefully read over your piece(s) with your mentor before submitting!
*All Scholastic submissions are due at the Fiction Workshop, on Sat., Dec. 12. Make sure to bring a hard copy (that means printed out) of your submission(s) with you to the Fiction Workshop. If you are not able to attend the Fiction Workshop, you must bring a hard copy of your submission(s) to the GWN office no later than Friday, Dec. 11. *Each submission (you may submit in more than one category) must have a completed Writing Submission Form 2010 attached to the front. Download the submission form below, or stop by the GWN office to pick one up. All submission forms must be signed by both the mentee AND the mentee’s parent or guardian. *GWN has signed on behalf of the mentee’s teacher, so you DO NOT need your teacher’s signature. Also, Girls Write Now is listed in place of your school’s name on the submission form. *The submission fee is waived for all GWN mentees, but you must submit through GWN. Download the guidelines below for more details on what to submit. If you have any questions about the submission process, you can reach Meghan at 212.336.9330 or meghan@girlswritenow.org. Good luck!
