Together, we'll explore...
our strengths and develop strategies for putting together an effective essay that will wow college admissions officers. Please bring paper, pen/pencil, and your creativity!

Workshop 1: Beginning the College Application Essay
Wednesday, July 14, 3:45 PM - 6:00 PM
In this workshop, you'll begin to identify what makes you singular and special and then draft an essay that reflects on these qualities with more complexity and depth. Everyone will leave the workshop with a draft that they can polish in the next two workshops.

Workshop 2: Writing the College Application Essay
Wednesday, July 21, 3:45 PM - 6:00 PM

In this workshop, you'll craft an essay based on prompts from the Common College Application. Participants will emerge with a draft that they can polish in the last workshop.

Workshop 3: Refining the College Application Essay
Wednesday, July 28, 3:45 PM - 6:00 PM

For this workshop, you'll learn strategies for revising and polishing your writing and then put them to practice by editing your essays from workshops 1 or 2 OR a previously written personal essay, getting individual and peer critique on your work. Make sure to bring your drafts! You will emerge with a finished piece of writing you can use for future applications.
