Calling all NYC High School Girls!
Are you a rising senior? Are you wondering what it takes to write a successful college application essay? Come to our 100% FREE summer workshop series and worry no further!
WHEN: Workshop 1, Wednesday July 14,
3:45 PM - 6:00 PM
WHERE: Girls Write Now, 520 8th Ave., 20th Floor between 36th and 37th StreetsHOW TO GET THERE: Take the A, C, or E train to 34th Street, Penn Station, and then walk up 8th Ave. to 520, between 36th & 37th Streets.
OR
Take the 1, 2, or 3 train to 34th Street, Penn Station, and then walk up 7th Ave. to 36th Street, make a left and walk to 8th Ave., make a right on 8th Ave. 520 will be on your right. Together, we'll explore...
our strengths and develop strategies for putting together an effective essay that will wow college admissions officers. Please bring paper, pen/pencil, and your creativity!
Workshop 1: Beginning the College Application Essay
Wednesday, July 14, 3:45 PM - 6:00 PM
In this workshop, you'll begin to identify what makes you singular and special and then draft an essay that reflects on these qualities with more complexity and depth. Everyone will leave the workshop with a draft that they can polish in the next two workshops. Workshop 2: Writing the College Application Essay Workshop 3: Refining the College Application Essay To sign up for the College Essay Writing Summer Workshops, email or call Avital at 212.336.9330 before July 7. Please include your full name, grade, e-mail address, and phone number. Participants must attend all three workshops, so please confirm you are available all three workshop dates. Priority is given to rising juniors and seniors.
