Journalism Workshop

Simply put, Journalism is the collecting, writing, editing, and presentation of news or feature articles for one of the media: newspapers, magazines, broadcast, or online. The challenge of the journalist as a writer is to try to make the news interesting and significant. During past workshops, we’ve started by identifying the important elements of any news story – the who, what, where, when, why, and how. In the 2009 Journalism Workshop, we practiced writing hard-hitting interview questions and then practiced writing news clips in various styles from tabloid to public radio, from local to international.
