Get to College

100% of seniors in our mentoring program graduate high school and are accepted to college. We intend to continue our record by guiding girls through the college application process with proper tools and resources, and getting them accepted into the schools of their dreams.

Twice a year, Girls Write Now hosts a free College Bound workshop series and seminar, open to all NYC high school girls, to guide them on the road to college:

  • Summer Resume & College Essay Writing Workshops: Brainstorm, draft, and refine your unique story to wow college admissions officers and prospective employers. Our free college essay and and resume writing workshops offer one-to-one advising and peer editing sessions that will help you find your voice and set you on the path to college. Workshops run June-July 2014. Learn more
  • Fall College Informational Seminar : This fall, get closer to the college of your dreams! Learn about applying to college from admissions officers, demystify the truth about paying for college from financial aid experts, receive professional advice on how to write a stellar essay in your own voice and style, and talk with current college students about what college life is really like! Parents, guardians, mentors, and educators are welcome.
