In this community studio, we will explore the importance of creating rounded, layered characters in screenplays and methods for doing that.
In this studio, we will explore our deepest curiosities and how we can transform those into the dramatic questions that creates conflict in a story. We will also take a look at the relationship our characters’ emotions, wants, and needs has to the conflict and drama of our story.

This studio explores various types of flash writing. We will learn about lists, drabbles, and postcard writing and get some hands-on experience writing our own!
Bring your personal statement (650 words max) to be workshopped and revised alongside Macmillan employees, who will serve as our Mentors of the Day.
A marching band only works when every section commits to the same downbeat. In our final session, we move from leading ourselves to leading in community (building cultures of shared credit, honest accountability, and mutual care) and each write a Community Leadership Credo that carries our values, our rewritten narratives, and our commitments beyond this studio.
