Mentees, Ahoy!

No mentors allowed: this weekend is our Mentee Mid-Year Workshop! It’s a chance for our mentees to talk amongst their peers about issues that affect them as teens, as young women, and as writers. Building on this year’s theme, New Worlds, we will be sharing and exploring our girls’ unique stories and backgrounds, with the help of GWN’s Therapy Panel, and partners Da Urban Butterflies and Project Girl Performance Collective. We’ll host discussions on womanhood, identity, and self-empowerment; and performances to inspire the development of writing from notebook to stage. Mentees, get ready to cozy up to your kind, cool, and incredibly talented peers of the mentee class of 2013!

"The genuine people of this program are astonishing, and I am honored to have worked with the Girls Write Now staff, mentees and mentors this year. I was able to crawl out of my shell and be who I wanted to be: a writer." — Jessica Mia Bordon, mentee
In Our Words
